QUEST & QRC-4-ESP Summer School 2025: Quantum Ideas, Quantum Energy!
1 September 2025

From 18 - 22 August 2025, young researchers from across Europe gathered at Aalto University, Espoo, Finland, for the Summer School on New Directions in Quantum and Quantum Reservoir Computing, Quantum Devices and Related Technologies.
Organised by the Horizon Europe funded QUEST project with support from QRC-4-ESP project, the week was filled with:
- Inspiring lectures on NISQ computing, quantum reservoir computing, open quantum systems & many-body physics
- Hands-on lab demonstrations and tours at Micronova
- Tutorials on scientific writing and presentations
- Poster sessions, discussions, and plenty of networking
And of course… lots of fun, as you can see from the photo!
This free-to-attend school gave participants a front-row seat to the future of quantum technologies - blending cutting-edge theory with practical lab exposure, while building friendships and collaborations that will continue beyond the event.
The QUEST project (Horizon Europe Twinning) is advancing quantum reservoir computing systems leveraging silicon carbide defect qubits, and this summer school is a key step in training the next generation of quantum innovators.
The message from Espoo was clear: the future of quantum is bright, collaborative, and full of energy!
